On 21 Jul 2026, Dr Delvin Ce Zhang, Assistant Professor in the School of Computer Science at University of Sheffield, was invited to deliver an academic talk titled “Multimodal and Explainable Fact-Checking” at the School of Information Science and Engineering, Shandong University. The talk focused on misinformation detection and automated fact-checking. Drawing on two of his representative research works, the talk systematically outlined the evolution of fact-checking technologies, from enriching evidence using contexts and references to integrating textual and visual information for multimodal fact-checking. Faculty members and students from the School attended the talk.
